Jewelry Care Guide
Remove your Jooel pieces when exercising, washing your hands, showering, swimming or doing anything that involves moisture. Chlorine, salt water and fresh water can damage precious metals by dulling or eroding them. Gold and silver are particularly sensitive to damage from chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolor them. Soapy water when bathing and showering can also leave a thin film, which may make the metal seem dull. Persistent contact with liquid may accelerate oxidization or discoloration.
Be sure to apply scents or cosmetics before you put on your jewelry as perfumes and lotions will also dull or erode your pieces.
Avoid using ‘dip’ polish or abrasive jewellery cleaners as these contain harsh chemicals and can destroy your jewelry over time. We do not recommend the use of any jewelry polishing cloths which have been treated with cleaners or polishing agents.
Note that with time and wear, sterling silver and brass will naturally become oxidised and eventually fade in tone. If however your jewelry is stored for long-periods of time, occasional cleaning is recommended to maintain shine and keep oxidation at bay. You may clean your jewelry using the complimentary non-abrasive cleaning cloth provided with your order.
